Before we moved there in 2004, Menno and I visited Australia for two and a half weeks in Dec 2000/Jan 2001. We attended my graduation ceremony in Adelaide, South Australia, on December 18 and stayed there a few days before travelling via the Great Ocean Road (the most spectacular coastal scenery in the world!) to Melbourne, Victoria.

After spending five days in Melbourne, which reminded us a bit of Amsterdam with its trams and old buildings and churches, we went to Sydney, New South Wales. We were there over New Year's and saw the great fireworks over the Sydney Harbour from our apartment window in North Sydney. Sydney Harbour and its surroundings are so beautiful, especially seen from a boat in the middle of the harbour.

Below are just fragments of the photos. Click on these thumbnails to see the full photo with description. You can scroll through the pictures by clicking on 'next' in every pop-up window. (Pictures of Coffs Harbour are on my page about our current life in Australia) .
