I
absolutely love to travel and visit new places, explore different
cultures and see as much of the world as I possibly can in a lifetime.
I
tend to get restless when I haven't been away for a few months, and when
we lived in Singapore, even if we couldn''t take a real holiday, Menno
and I would plan a short trip to nearby places in Malaysia and Indonesia,
often to islands or beach resorts. Back in Holland, we'd plan long weekends
away in various parts of the country, exploring different regions of our
home country that we'd never been to before.
I
have put pictures and descriptions of just some of the places we've been
to in the following pages, organised per country. I did this while we
were living in Singapore, and most of them feature South East Asian countries.
At some point I would like to continue putting up more photos of different
countries, if I can ever find the time.
You may also want to look at my dedicated pages I created about our life
in Singapore, the Netherlands
and Australia, to see the photos that I put
up on those pages.
Anyway,
to look at the pictures in this photo gallery, you can do any one of three
things: click on any of the country links at the top of this page, click
on the "pictures" links in the country lists below, or click
on a highlighted area on one of the maps. A pop-up window will open up
on top of this page, where you can look at and scroll through the pictures
before returning to this page to "cybervisit" another country.
I
have also dedicated a page to some pictures of animals we have encountered
in Asia. Curious to see Vietnamese roasted dogs? See my animal
pictures!
For
all you geographically-challenged non-travellers out there, here is not
only a list of all the countries/states/islands I have visited so far,
but I even marked them on maps for you! For easy reference, there are
four different maps, of Asia, Australia, Europe and North America. I have
never visited the continents that are not on this page.
